DNS Propagation

Check if your DNS changes have propagated across different DNS servers worldwide.

Check Propagation Status

Enter a domain name, select a record type, and optionally provide an expected value to check against.

If provided, servers returning this exact value will be marked as propagated.

About DNS Propagation

How DNS Propagation Works

When you make changes to your DNS records, these changes don't instantly appear worldwide. DNS uses a distributed system of servers, each with its own cache that refreshes according to the TTL (Time To Live) value of your records.

When To Use This Tool

  • After updating DNS records to check propagation status
  • When troubleshooting inconsistent site access issues
  • To verify DNS configuration is correct worldwide
  • During migration to confirm DNS changes

Pro Tip

Use the "Expected Value" field to check if a specific record value has propagated. For example, if you've just updated your A record to "203.0.113.1", enter that value to see which DNS servers have the new record.
